Visitor's Book; Barrington's Hospital inspecting governors report book. Large thick volume, with feint ruled blue paper of which only 13 sides are used. Ms signed reports by the governors between Sept. 16th 1884 and Dec. 13th 1885, with a later addition 28:02:72 in blue pen with a red question mark beside it, contrasting with the general black ink and pencil entries. Hard bound, in blue cloth, with leather spine and corners; marbled inside cover and ends of pages. On front cover at centre is an applied leather? rectangular panel, with gold tooled decorative border and the words "Visitors' Book also in gold. On the inside of the front cover is a printed label, black on pink, reading "G. McKern & Sons, Printers, Stationers and Account Book Manufacturers, 113 George Street, Limerick". One page near the end has been torn out carefully.
