Photo Parnell in oval frame, H. 5.2. Frame internally H. 64.0 W. 47.0, externally H. 78.0 W. 68.4.
Illuminated address, copy of, presented to C.S.Parnell, by the Congregated Trades of Limerick, Oct. 28th 1880. Printed text but with hand painted border. At the top of the text a small photo of Parnell is surrounded by gripping beasts interlace, crowned with the Harp and Shamrock. From this upper field three strand interlace terminating in shamrocks, extends down either side as a decorative border and meets at the bottom centre, where both meet and interlock. A shamrock rises from the junction. Each strand of interlace is outlined in black and filled in with colour, yellow, pale green, red and lilac. The photo is outlined in brown. The artwork is signed Ml. Ryan. Framed in a multicoloured frame, the inner order is white, the next is brown, the next pale blue-grey and the outer gold. The printed text offers Parnell freedom of the Congregated Trades. Incidentally the interlace does not work properly.
