Weapon, firearm, blunderbuss, percussion, Limerick made. Top of barrel at 'breech' end stamped 'RICHARDSON LIMERICK IL B 595' (Richardson, 1 George St, Limerick). Bell shaped muzzle, pentagonal faceted 'breech' end of barrel, centre portion circular in section. Smoothbore muzzle loader. Ramrod holder and groove under barrel, ramrod missing. Stock under fore end of barrel carved back, probably to create a foregrip, possibly for the left hand of a righthanded person. Butt plate on butt. Woodwork, screws etc appear to be original, Mechanism appears to be in working order.
