Envelope blue, printed black. Consisted originally of a single piece of paper, with a rectangular section as the front and four triangular flaps with rounded points to form the back, one flap extending from each edge of the front section. Three of these were folded back and glued to one another to form the shape of the envelope, the narrow flaps on each side first (left over right), and the broad flap at the bottom over them both. The postcards could then be inserted in the envelope, and the remaining broad flap at the top could be folded over to cover them. This last has glue remaining on its inner side, there are corresponding glue marks on the envelope back, and it is uncertain whether or not the envelope was sealed. Obv: A double - line border with a decorative motif at each corner, consisting of three items (rosebuds?) forming the corner (bottom right corner missing through damage).
