Whiskey Jar, ceramic, stoneware, half gallon, with handle. Dark cream glaze over bottom half, pale brown above including inside neck. Near cylindrical jar, narrowing to flared foot, flat base. Narrows slightly from centre to domed top, in top centre of which is the conical neck, with ring around base, flat top with convex rim. Interior of neck narrows slightly. Curved strap handle, crudely applied, smeared-on top and bottom, off centre. Handle has rounded underside, and a ridge running full length of upper side flanked by a pair of parallel impressed lines. Top of strap touches side of neck. Lower end of strap formed into crude point. Base flat, with wire removal marks visible in centre. Opposite side of top to strap, Woodhouse & Co / Limerick. At base of neck, partial stamp, oval, (illegible letters) E / LTD? / (missing letter) RISTOL. Made by Price, Bristol. Bevel on edge of base.
