View looking south along O'Connell Street, with Cruises Hotel in left foreground; many horses and carts spread out along the street. Reverse printed in grey; at centre top "Valentine's series/ Famous/ Throughout/ the/ World.", with "Throughout" printed across the Valentine twin globe trade mark; "Post" to left and "Card" to right of previous; central division; up left edge "Valentine, Dublin". Green halfpenny postage revenue stamp of George V, first definitive issue, half profile, at top right. Cancellation of six horizontal bars across top of card, incorporating at left "Limerick/ ?? PM/ 2 DEC 12". Addressed to Miss H. E. McEllwee, 67 Douglas Street, Cork, from Alice; message in shorthand. Crease down left side (front).
