Axehead, socketed bronze. Top of loop broken off, damage along loop side and blade. Oval mouth with external bevel. Slightly concave from the bevel to a low encircling ridge at the level of the inside top of the loop. Faceted body, 10 sided, the facets merging at the top of the blade. Formerly convex cutting edge. Casting seams on edges extend to bevel. Internal raised ridges from halfway down the centre of each face to the tip of the blade, merging c 2cms above the end, forming an internal V-shaped projection. Heavily patinated, the patina pocked and damaged extensively.
