First, "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. 315 19] day of [March] 183[9]/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [One Hundred & Sixty one Pounds.]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ Remittance for the Week end[ed] the [9th Inst.]/ £[161-"-/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General./ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of stamps./ Limerick & Clare." Last "To/ The Distributer of Stamps,/ [Limerick]/ Post Paid". Folded from both ends inwards, from bottom up and top down then sealed. Cancellations, rectangular red above address "Paid/ MR20E/ 1839", circular black on reverse as folded "Limerick/ MR 21/ 1839". Watermark; a crown over a post-horn in a cartouche, with "J & M" under.
