Front "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [486 16th] day of [April] 1842 (2 changed to 4)/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the sum of/ [Six Pounds fourteen shillings]/ on Account of Stamp Duties being the Amount of his/ Remittance for the Week end ("his" to "end" crossed out) [Advertisement duty paid on account of "The/ Limerick Reporter"]/ £[6:14:0/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver General./ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps,/ [Limerick]. Back "To/ The Distributer of Stamps,/ Post Paid. [Limerick]". Folded from both sides to middle then bottom up and top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation over address, "Paid/ AP 16A/ 1844" and circular black on reverse as folded "Limerick/ AP 17/ 1844". Hole near centre-fold where seal broken. Perforation at centre where stuck on spike. Watermark; "S Evans & Co/ 1841"
