Receipt, printed and ms; black on white. Single sheet printed folded and printed on front and rear, central pages blank. Front, "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [1202 18] day of [Sept] 1842 (converted to 1843)/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [Four Pounds Ten Shillings/ and eleven pence]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ Remittance for the Week end ("his" to "end" crossed out) [a/ Board order to pay] the [Registrar of the/ Diocese Limerick for copies of wills.]/ £ [4:10:11/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General./ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps/ [Limerick]"; added in second hand under amount in figures; "Received this amount/ by a check for the Regr. of Limerick/ Wm. Hill/ 21 Sept 43". Reverse printed at centre "To/ The Distributer of Stamps,/ Post Paid. [Limerick]". Has been folded from edges to middle, from bottom up, then top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation over address, "Paid/ SE 18A/ 1843"; circular black on reverse as folded, "Limerick/ Se190/ 1843". Perforation at centre where stuck on spike. Watermark; Crown over post-horn inside a cartouche, with "SE & Co" under.
