First side; "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [75 26] day of [January] 1841 {1 crossed out and 2 added}/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [Eighteen Pounds eighteen shillings/ Advertisement duty due by Proprietor Limerick Chronicle]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ remittance for the week end the {"his" to "the" crossed out} [Payment of this day]/ {ps} [18.18.0 / Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General/ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps./ [Limerick & Clare]". Final page "To/ Distributer of Stamps,/ [Limerick]/ Post Paid.". Back forms the address; both ends folded inward, bottom upwards then top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation over address "Paid/ JA27A/ 1842"; circular black cancellation on reverse as folded "Limerick/ JA 28/ 1842". Hole in paper where seal opened, holed by spike. Watermark; "W. Tanner/ 1839".
