First side; "Stamp Office, Dublin,/ No. [1327 18] day of [October] 183[7]/ Received from [Peter O'Brien]/ Distributer of Stamps for [Limerick] the Sum of/ [Thirty Pounds eighteen shillings "on/ account of advertisement due by the Limerick/ Chronicle Newspaper"]/ on Account of Stamp Duties, being the Amount of his/ remittance for the week end the {"his" to "the" crossed out} [a payt. of this day]/ {ps} [30.18.0/ Robert Tyrrell] Receiver-General/ [H. Cooper] Comptroller./ To the Distributer of Stamps./ [Limerick & Clare]". Final page "To/ Distributer of Stamps,/ [Limerick]/ Post Paid." Back forms the address; both ends folded inward, bottom upwards then top down and sealed. Rectangular red cancellation above address "Paid/ OC19E/ 1837"; second circular black cancellation on reverse as folded "Limerick/ OC 27/ 1837". Hole in paper where seal opened. Watermark, "George Munn/ 1836", and parallel lines.
