Envelope, addressed to Peter O'Brien Esqr., Stamp Office, Limerick; name Peter crossed out in pencil and James added. Victoria penny red unperforated postage stamp, at top right, letters MI. Cancellation on stamp, a Maltese Cross. Three circular cancellations on reverse "Limerick/ MY 3/ 1843/ F", "Kilrush/ MY 3/ 1843" and "Ennis/ 3 MY/ 1843". Applied circular yellow paper seal on flap, embossed with Gothic letter C on lined background. Perforation through front but not through flap.
