Letter, ms. addressed to P. O'Brien Esqr, Stamp Office, Limerick. Single sheet folded in half and first page used for letter. Letter enclosing halves of notes signed A.? Moore. Sheet has been used previously as an envelope. First use addressed to "Miss Moore, Stamp Office, Killaloe", with at top right, Victoria penny red unperforated postage stamp, letters BF, set sideways; stamp cancelled 303" in a lozenge of parallel lines; two circular cancellations on the reverse as folded for first use "Limerick/ OC 14/ 1845/ E" and "Killaloe/ OC 14/ 1845", sealed with blob of red wax. Second use, Victoria penny red postage stamp, on bluish paper, at left of address, letters SJ.; cancellation on stamp illegible; red seal with trellis pattern; two circular cancellations on reverse "Limerick/ OC 15/ 1845" and "Killaloe/ OC 14/ 1845". Large V shaped area of paper missing, with rough edges suggesting insect damage. Perforation through centre as laid out flat. In pencil a sum of six amounts adding to 15/6.
