Envelope, addressed to Peter O'Brien Esq., Stamp Office, Limerick. Victoria penny red unperforated postage stamp at top right, set sideways, letters GJ. Cancellation on stamp, "391" in a lozenge of parallel lines. Circular cancellations on reverse, "Rathkeale/ JA 1/ 1848" and "Limerick/ JA 1/ 1848" Black seal on flap, a square with intertwined T. W. Perforation through centre of envelope.
