Letter, ms. from A. Moore, Killaloe, to P. O'Brien, Stamp Office, Limerick, 29th July 1847, enclosing half notes for thirty pounds, the other half to come with affidavit. Single sheet folded to form 4 pages, with letter on first, then subsequently folded four times and sealed for posting. Brown partial seal with lattice work pattern. Victoria penny red postage stamp, unperforated. Cancellation on stamp, "272" in a lozenge of parallel lines. Two circular cancellations on reverse "Killaloe/ JY 29/ 1847" in black and "Limerick/ JY 30/ 1847" in blue. Message on reverse, "I dropped the/ letter in the Port {boat?}/ the moment it/ was received." Now folded flat as letter, perforation through centre, some paper missing removed with rest of seal.
