Letter, ms. from Paul O'Dwyer to Peter O'Brien, Stamp Office, Limerick, 7th October 1852; enclosing two Post Office orders for 9-4-0, of which 8-0-0 for stamp office the remainder from James Leydan (or Lydan). Single sheet folded to form 4 pages, letter on first, then folded four times for posting and sealed on reverse. Red brown seal, with "Stamp/ [Offi]ce" around a central device which is partially missing and unclear. Victoria unperforated penny red postage stamp, bluish paper, at top right, letters KD. Cancellation on stamp "2?5" inside a lozenge of parallel lines. Three circular cancellations on reverse, "Ennistymon/ OC 7/ 1852", "Ennis/ OC 7/ 1852" and "Limerick/ OC 7/ 1852". Perforation through letter, unfolded.
