Ladle, Limerick silver sauce ladle, by Thomas Burke. Hemispherical bowl, slightly waisted handle, curving away from bowl, to a plain pointed end. Decoration on handle; a pointed oval formed of punched D-shapes outside a zig zag line; in oval a crest, arm embowed holding sword; above oval, a plume of three feathers, punched and visible on reverse; plume in a zig-zag border; below oval a line of four arrows pointing up to oval, with four dots below; bright cut border down to bowl in zig-zag false relief with inside a tight zig-zag which merges together at the narrowest part to diverge again where the handle widens to bowl. Three marks on underside of handle, just above narrowest point; "TB" in a rectangle, struck twice either side of "Ster" in rectangle; the left hand B and er of ster, are very worn.
