Sauce boat, Limerick silver by Joseph Johns, c. 1765. Wavy everted rim, double scroll handle, the upper freestanding above the bowl, a foliate raised thumb rest on top, the bottom of this scroll soldered to the rim, the lower scroll soldered to a plain oval plate on the body. Three shell knuckle hoof feet. Marks: II, lion rampant between, on shield, to each side of compass dot on centre of underside
