Clay tobacco pipe made for John Clune, tobacco manufacturer, Limerick? 1880s 1890s. Made by John Pollock, Manchester? Highly ornate upright bowl, the ornament continuing along the stem, which is broken off close to the bowl. Ornament begins 1.5 below the rim, consists of a tapering line of bosses down each face, with a club shape outlined by two ridges with groove between, the club filled with horizontal ribs, between the bosses. A large section of bowl missing on stem face.
