Clay tobacco pipe made for John Clune, tobacco manufacturer, Limerick, c. 1880. Cylindrical, slightly bulbous bowl with flat rim at an angle of c. 20 degrees to the stem, crude groove below rim for three quarters of circumference, and a blob of clay from the rim on the stem face, and other bits of surplus caly on the bowl due to faulty casting. Flat based heel to bowl. Stem broken off. Bowl stamped on stem face within oval groove: Land League, a faint shamrock in centre.
