Spoon, serving, Dublin silver by Samuel Neville, 1814. Fiddle pattern. Pointed oval bowl with a broad semi-oval drop with central swelling. Down-turned handle end, with a broad thick lobe on the underside. Lower half of stem bevel edged. Handle engraved Limerick City Mess on an oval garter, light horizontal grooves across lower third of garter, surrounding the castle of Limerick city arms, the castle with narrow outer turrets, single battlements, no windows, central tower domed, with pennant with vertical grooving flying l. Rounded portcullis closed. No holes on garter. Marks: Seven point star without surround, R (1814), harp, Hibernia, George III duty mark, (these marks contiguous), S.N. in rectangle with clipped corners on lower wide part of handle.
