Spoon, hook handled basting, Limerick silver by Joseph Johns. Plain tapered handle on the same plane as the bowl. The rounded top of the handle is bent around backwards forming a hook. Slight central ridge along upper half of handle underside. On top of handle is an engraved crest, a bird on a hillock on a ground, the bird facing l., wings folded. Oval round ended bowl with a broad three-quarter oval drop. Marks: II, lion rampant between, on shield, Sterling in rectangle 2.2 above it, on underside of narrow part of handle.
