Engraved ornament on upper side of handle: above, a shield, the edge of which is formed of opposed cut away bright cut triangles, with a double line of dots inside and out, the initials P.J.C. / M.H. within. Above this an arc of radial grooves. Below, a sun formed of a central dot with radiating triangular grooves. The edges below this are ornamented with zig-zag lines, formed by cut away opposed triangles, which join in a point below the sun motif. Within this are double lines of dots, and outside also at the top, and around the upper half of the handle. There is a plant motif formed by lines of oval shapes, three dots below, within the triangular top of the edge ornament.
