Initial pages have an alphabetic index A-Z, including Mc down right side; followed by 598 numbered pages, printed with red and blue columms and blue lines. Initial section has customer names referenced to page; followed by accouts of drug department (pp1-14), seed dept. The whole was originally bound in half leather, but the spine and front cover have been rebound in cloth, with, Private/ Ledger in gold on red leather on spine. The whole was closed with a brass lock, held in place by 4 pins to each of the covers, but it was not reattached to the front cover. Billhead of the company sellotaped to first leaf.
