Reverse printed in black; at top left, The Treaty Stone, Limerick City: Limerick City on the River/ Shannon is long remembered in Irish history for its famous sieges of/ 1690 and 1691. The Treaty Stone is said to be the stone on which the/ Treaty of Limerick was signed in 1691. The guarantees of religious/ freedom contained in the Treaty was repudiated hence Limerick's/ familiar title "City of the Violated Treaty". King John's Castle erected/ in the 13th century, is a fine example of medieval architecture; to right John Hinde/ Ireland and a bar code.
