Handaxe, stone. Dark grey shale?, patinated brown. Rectangular outline, broken diagonally forming a rounded point at one corner. Edges straight and flat, natural. Butt straight, bevelled. One face is naturally rough and flat. The other face is entirely worked by the removal of one longtitudinal flake on the short edge, and three transverse flakes from the long side. A further flake removed from the base of the central scar, forming a shallow concavity. The junction of the angled and short side forms a crude ridge-backed point, slightly battered. The junction of the long and angled sides forms a rounded thin point, with one flake removed along the long axis on the flat side. Neolithic. L. long side 8.8, short side 7.0; W. 6.9; T. max 1.7; Wt. 172.2 Fisherstreet / 1910 handwritten in ink on the worked face, faded
