Statement of his role in the War of Independence given by Michael Conway, The Square Rathkeale, to the Bureau of Military History 1913-21, in 1956. 10 sheets typed on one side of each, stapled together between faded blue-green card covers. Letter from P.J. Brennan, secretary of the Bureau, 18th May 1956 to Michael Conway thanking him for his assistance and noting that five documents placed in their archive; letter pasted to inside front cover. Reverse of p. 1 has 3p Eire commemorative issue postage stamp of Arthur Guinness opposite section about the boycott of Guinness stout because of the donation m,ade by the brewery to the Ulster Volunteers; and three newspaper cuttings, two of which are obituaries, one of his brother Thomas Conway the other of Terence O'Brien. On reverse of p. 2 an obituary of Michael Lehane; two news cuttings about Cork Jail on reverse of p. 5; an in memoriam cutting re Daniel Lehane at head of p.7and on inside back cover two cuttings about the Bureau. Top and bottom edges and corners creased.
