Watch, pocket, silver; fusee movement. White enamel dial, with black Roman numerals inside a ring marked with minutes; R Wallace/ Limerick/, below 12 o'clock, second dial at centre bottom. Movement signed R Wallace Limerick 8193. Hallmarks on inside of back and on inside of cover, lion passant, leopard's head, letter A; London 1876. Maker HB in an oval. Both sets of marks around a central stamped 12. Marks on inside worn more than inside of cover. Several jewellers' marks scratched on inside of cover. Knop, lacking ring, has three marks, lion rampant, b, and B. The b may be Bimingham cycle of letters for 1876; the upper case B seems to be part of makers initials with first letter missing. Back engraved with garter around a cartouche, on a diamond patterned background
