Assignment, manuscript on parchment. William Marritt to Joseph Fisher, Merchant 16th Oct 1800. Assignment of a interest in a lot of building ground at Newtownpery. Refers to 1798 indenture between Rt Hon. Edmond Lord Viscount Perry (Pery) and William Marritt re a plot of land marked 4 on a map attached to the indenture, being part of the field next to Captain Hill's holding, measuring 49 ft E-W and 300 ft N-S, bounded on the west with Lott No 3, on the east with Lott No 5, on the north with the street leading from the late Sir Henry Hartstonge holdings to the late John Dowdall Hammond's holdings and on S. with George's St., on the lives of Christopher Arbuthnot Marritt, William Pilkington Marritt, Charles Minchin Marritt, sons of William. Written on one side of a single sheet, bottom turned up and held at sides by strips of parchment but at centre with two pieces of red tape with seal attached to front. Same seal used for both, a female classical head. Signed by both parties to left of the seal. Blue duty stamp at top left, embossed, Ireland/ over a crowned shield with harp, George/ III about crown, over V. Shillings, below. Black on white GR stamp on reverse over lead strip in duty stamp. Circular stamp at top left 26/ Pence. Annotated on reverse that signed sealed and delivered in the presence of John Thomas Thacker and James Philps, who also witness receipt of the £300 involved. Also annotated that a memorial entered at Dublin Registry, signed John Griffin. Folded from top and bottom to centre then in half; then from ends to centre and in half. Annotated on outside as to contents, with Lott/ No 4 in bottom left corner; and No 5 at top right.
