Settlement, manuscript on parchment. Settlement by Valentine Richard Quin, Lord Adare, on the occasion of his son Windham's marriage to Caroline Wyndham Dec 27th 1810. 26 sheets of parchment. Parties to agreement; 1) Valentine Richard Quin, Lord Adare, 2) Hon Windham Quin of Adare eldest son, 3) Hon Richard Quin of Titton House Taunton, Somerset, 4) Thomas Wyndham and his daughter Caroline of Dunraven Castle Glamorgan; 5) Rev. Thomas Grady of Littleton Co. Tipperary, 6) Henry Marquis of Lansdown and Thomas Goold of Merrion Square, Dublin, 7) Thomas Hanmer of Hardwirr? Shropshire and William Henry Browne Folkes, Hillington Hall, Norfolk 8) Rev Standish Grady, Carrick on Suir? Co. Tipperary and Rev. Walter Birch, Magdalen College Oxford. Refers to a jointure on Lady Frances Muriel Strangways (wife of Lord Adare; a lease of 1804 with parties, 1) Quin father and son and Standish Grady, 2) William Holland, 3) Robert Good and 4)Thomas Grady and Marcus Patterson. Copy of 1807 indenture between Quin and Lansdown and Thomas Goold on reverse of two sheets. Document covers 21 sheets with the remaining 5 taken up with the first and second schedules, 1) Rental of the Estate of Lord Adare and 2) Encumbrances and outgoings on the estate. Folded up at bottom and joined together with 5 sets of green ribbon; signed and sealed with red wax by the main parties, with spaces for the lesser ones initialled. Each stamp has two sets of stamp duty, embossing onto blue paper with lead through centre; a) "GR III" over a crowned shield showing the floral emblems of the UK anwith "Ireland" at base over "V Shillings" b) Crowned shield showing a rose over "One Pound". On the reverse over the lead are small "GR" monogram stamps; brown on white over the 5/- and black on white over the £1. The whole is rolled up and inserted into an iron tube. Note on the outside of the roll that memorandum entered in registry of deeds signed by John Griffin, other signatures on reverse of second sheet Thomas Madden, clerk.
