Notebook, manuscript. Largely filled with observations by David Louis Meany on one M.J. O'Sullivan who was 16 yrs old in 1899; also a 25 page "parting word"from Meany addressed to Michael who is leaving Limerick; also "Limerick is Left behind" in different hand, 7pp; several pages of verses, in ink and pencil, with lines corrected/changed here and there, some verses of strong nationalist sentiment. Originally an accounts book with red printed cash columns, several pages sliced out. Black cloth cover. Book very worn and beginning to come apart.
