Postcard, colour. Easter, 1918. GHB, Dublin. Drawing of soldier kneeling below crucifixion, feet of Christ nailed to sloping stand at top of card, soldier with hands joined, fingers over knuckles, a rifle slung over back, his cap on the ground. Artists initials, G.B., below bottom of cross. Above l., Easter, 1918. / (line) / With thoughts of the / absent ones of / easter 1916. Across bottom, "Be ye faithful unto death". Black line around image, white margin to card. R/ Printed green, headed Post Card, divided by logo, a circle formed of a shamrock with initials on leaves, l., G, top, H, r., B, on a backlground of smaller green shamrocks, above, curved, Printed in, below, straight, Dublin. Long and short underline and double line vertical dovide with ornamental geometric top and bottom. Solid outline for stamp. "Made in Ireland" device in top l. corner, double circle enclosing celtic geometric pattern in double circle, 0 and 63J across central band, Deanta in Eireann curving around l. half between the pairs of double circles. Not used.
