Photograph, b/w, matt. Three MacSweeney brothers, John (l), Denis and Patrick (r), together with an unidentified customer, posed outside MacSweeney brush factory, Milk Market, Mungret St. The brothers are standing on the footpath in front of the doorway, dressed in white aprons, John and Patrick wearing caps. The customer, an elderly man, stands behind and between John and Denis in front of the centre of the doorway. The building is of cut limestone, flat lintel doorway with round arch fanlight over, a protruding trapezoidal keystone over fanlight. The line of the lintel continues each side as protruding stone and is inscribed (l, curved) Brush (on lintel, straight capitals) D. M'Sweeney. (r, curved) manufacturer. There is a Georgian style window in the wall opposite the doorway. On the footpath left a two deep circular stach of brush heads, and to right, a piece of factory furniture with a brush head on top. Photo mounted on card for framing.
