Printed in black on white paper, the coastline has been coloured in p[ale green. The map is based on the 1690 French survey (see King's in Conflict p. 243-4) but this survey was used throughout the 18th century (cf. LM1993.0407 of c 1780); a series of longitude comparisons at the right side, suggests that it probably dates to after the invention of the maritime chronometer in mid 18th c. At bottom right is an circle containing an anchor, surrounded by three fleurs-de-lys with "Depot de la Marine" over. At bottom right outside the frame is the price of 30 sols and above frame at top right is "No 12. The bottom right corner is missing but the but does not include any of the printed area. On reverse in pencil "Irlande/ about 1766" at bottom right and "12" in sepia ink ms at top right.
