Postcard, b/w portrait format. White margin around image, title in bottom margin "Most Rev. Dr. O'Dwyer/ lord Bishop of Limerick", with "Photo Lafayette. Dublin". Half length photo of bishop in short cape and alb, with cross on chest; looking front slightly to his right. Reverse printed in green "Post Card" at centre top with ornate T-shaped division below; to left of centre "This Space may be used for printed or/ written matter for Inland use only"; to right "Only the address to be written here; box for stamp at top right in which "A/ halfpenny/ stamp to/ be placed/ here". Not used. Pencil dealer's mark at top let "£20".
