Lease, parchment, manuscript. lease of premises in the N. Liberties, from Isaac Jaques Jones, Gent. of N. Strand to James Clanchy, victualler, of Altamira in the North Liberties, dated 18th Sept. 1829. Refers back to a lease of 1799 of Isaac Jones; premises bounded on east by John Welch's holding and the High road to Ennis on the west, with the late William ??? premises on the south; on the lives of Timothy, Michael and John Clanchy the sons of the said James. Folded up at bottom and fold held in position by strips of parchment at the sides; also by one piece of ribbon with remains of a red seal on the front. The area where Jone would have signed and sealed has been cut away and only the signature of Clanchy remains to left of his seal. At top left is a circular black stamp, "2 SH/ 6PE". Text in black ink, with framing lines in sepia.The document is damp stained reducing legibility in places, and there is a tear in the parchment down the centre fold. The document has originally been folded 3 or 4 times and annotated with contents on the outer side, but is now flattened and folded in half with text outwards.
