Snuff box, Limerick silver and cowrie shell by Samuel Johns. Brown and cream spotted shell, with reeded hinged cover. Makers mark at centre inside cover, Samuel Johns, very worn, only basal outer curve of the S surviving and lower part of the J. Monogram "AM" on outside of cover. Inscription around the side "Ambrose Madden, Longford Castle Galway 1745-91, from J. Halpin to Dr. T. More Madden Dublin 1896".
