Rubber stamp, with metal frame and wooden handle. "Limerick Museum/ [changeable date]/ John's Square". Museum name and address set on a flat plate, with rectangular hole at centre for the changeable date; plate hinged at one side with clasp at the other, allowing access to change date; plate set onto square box housing date. Inside 4 bands which can be turned manually, two for day, one for month, and one for year; year band runs from 1979 to 1990, with zero removed to allow use up to time of move to new museum in 1999. Metal housing on one side reads "No 2/ All [a square]/ Square"; on the opposite "Made in England". Pale blue painted wooden handle on top.
