Medal, copper alloy. Archconfraternity of the Holy Family. Oval with suspension loop cast as one with the medal. Obverse; The Holy family with Jesus at centre, Mary at left and Joseph at right, with Holy Spirit above depicted as a dove in the centre of a sunburst, inscription "Jesus Mary Joseph". Reverse "Archconfraternity of the Holy Family [a star] around, "Established/ By/ Pius IX/ April 1847" at centre. Suspended on a copper alloy chain, in a repeating sequence of three small circular links followed by a long oval one; 27 long links.
