Spearhead, bronze socketed, unpatinated. Golden coloured. Base looped, with straight base to the blade. The conical socket continues for just under half the length of the blade. the sides of the socket retain casting ridges, which run under and partially over the loops. The loop holes are elongated oval in outline, and the loops are faceted, pentagonal in cross section, extending for c. 4mm onto the blade. The sides of the blade are broadly bevelled, gently convex in outline from the base to the sharp pointed tip. The midrib is rounded, a continuation of the socket to the tip. The bevels are bordered by low ridges, running from the loops and fading out close to the tip. The areas between the ridge and the midrib are flat, the ridges producing a grooved effect. The base of the blade slopes slightly towards the socket, producing angled shoulders. Much of the surface is rough. L. 18.3. Found in a bog at Cragg, Belvoir, Co Clare
