Postcard, b/w matt, landscape format, white margin around. Title in view at bottom left "The Slip, Foynes". View shows three women on the slipway running down to water from left, each woman in hat and coat. rowing boat on slip cut by bottom edge, beyond slip, three boats moored to shore at left. Reverse printed in black, "Post Card" at centre top with T-shaped division below; up left edge "Published by Madigan. Foynes (Printed in Germany)"; to left of centre "Correspondence" to right "Address". Red one penny Eire definitive issue stamp at top right with outline map of Ireland under and arch reading "Eire". Two circular black cancellations, one over stamp one to left; both read "Foynes/ Co. Limerick" on outer ring, "1PM/ 8 JU/ 38" at centre. Pencil dealer's mark at top left "£7". Addressed to Miss L Dingle, Dunheved House, Saltash, Cornwall, from PL; message having a pleasant time.
