Lease, indenture, manuscript. Lease by Commander Arthur Cleveland Heathcote, R.N. of Coomb Bank, Liss, Hampshire and Benjamin Beamish, of 3 Trevor Hill, Newry, both trustees of Thomas Vance, to the Limerick Clothing factory of warehouse stores and premises at 9 Lower Bridge Street, 23rd April 1900. Two folded sheets of legal paper sewn down left edge with green tape to give an 8 page booklet, each page with red ruled margins on all four sides; lease written on first five pages only, last page used as wrapper, remainder blank. First page printed at top "This Indenture" with printers name around "O'Brien & Ards Gt. Britain St." Signed by both lessors with J.W. Heathcote and T.L Wade as witnesses to their signatures; signed for Limerick Clothing by Thomas B. Ferguson and Octavius Wallace directors, Philip Snell manager and witnessed by H.M. Griffiths, accountant, Ennis Road, Limerick. The two lessor names have an applied red paper seal to the right of their names; to the right of the directors names is a large circular green paper seal with serrated edge, embossed with the company seal, of the arms of Limerick at centre surrounded by "The Limerick Clothing Factory/ Limited". Circular red stamp duty embossing at top of first page; a crown over a cartouche, "1" to left and "5" to right of crown, "Ten Shillings" over "00" in a circle, inside cartouche. Folded in half and back endorsed same day that Alexander William Shaw J.P. of Roxboro and Octavius Wallace of the Crescent take on personal responsibility for the rent, signed by both and witnessed by Philip Snell; separate duty for this annex, circular red embossing, The Royal arms, with "00" at centre bottom on garter; "Z/ 1" to left of crown, fleur-de-lis/ "5" to right, garland of rose,shamrock and thistle to either side of arms "Six Pence" at bottom. Folded in half again and annotated with contents "Robert Wm. Peebles 9 North Frederick St." at bottom. Several pencil notes and underlinings throughout the document. Watermarks; outer double sheet, "Swiftbrook/ Tensile" on front page, Fleur-de-lis in crowned shield with "LBM" under on last; central sheet, left side, a fleur-de-lis in crowned shield with "B & Co" below, right, "Busbridge's/ Patent/ 1885" below.
