"9 Patrick Street & 20 Ellen Street/ Stores, Carr Street/ Limerick, [space for date] 18 [space]/ Mr [followed by two lines for name and address]/ Bought of Michael Egan/ Wholesale/ Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchant." Filled out in the name of John Ryan, Newport, and dated 8 June 1874. Lists three items to the sum of 2-3-0 and marked "By Cash 2-3-0" and signed by M. Egan. Second Egan signature across a Queen Victoria 1 penny lilac Inland Revenue stamp, queen's head inside an oval.
