Fishing rod, "greenheart", wood with metal fittings. Three sections of diminishing diameter; sections joined by brass male to female slide fittings. Rounded turned wood butt of different wood to rod, metal collar above butt, with attachments for reel above. Regularly spaced iron-wire eyes for the line, held in place by thread wrapped around rod several times on either side. Stamped into wood under varnish between butt and reel "J. Enright/ Castleconnell", and in reel area "5988". When assembled there is a slight bend towards the tip.
