View up Mulgrave St. to barrack entrance at left of picture, in centre foreground a group of three youths move towards camera, at right a man sitting on the shafts of a horse and cart laden with what appears to be a cast iron stove and a machine with a large wheel handle; to left of youths, a knot of people and carts around the barrack entrance, one of which to right of knot is laden with wood. Mount card has two perforations for insertion into an album and, on the edge of it is a printed address sticker of Malcolm Mitchell, black on white.
