Card, membership. "Loyal National Repeal Association of Ireland." Printed in black on white and green. In form of two columns joined across at top and bottom to form a frame. Inside frame; at centre a map of Ireland, in green, with the four provinces named; flags on spears to left and right, flag to left a mirror image of Ireland surrounded by sunburst, to right a shamrock inscribed "Catholic, Dissenter, Protestant/ Quis separare?". Over map "Loyal National Repeal Association/ of/ Ireland[in centre of map]. Below in black ink and printed, "[Mr John Byrne/ having Enrolled 20 Repealers] admitted a Member/ of the Association the [23rd] day of [Octr] 184[3]/ Thos. Matw. Ray Secretary". On pillars; at corners, dates and names of battles, Clontarf, Benburb, Limerick and Beal an Atha Buidhe; on left column a size comparison with smaller countries of Europe concluding that Ireland "has not a Parliament"; right column, has population size, revenue, amounts sent to Britain, and military contribution, concluding with same sentiment as at left. Across top a quotation of Dungannon Volunteers resolution of 1782; across bottom a quote of Sauran's Speech, with membership No.? "32521" to right. Printed on one side only. Repaired with short piece of white sticky label at top right on reverse. Card beginning to delaminate.
