Postcard, b/w matt, landscape, white margin around view. Title in bottom left of view; "Upper Maiden Street, Newcastle West". A busy street scene with shops on either side of road which curves off to right; many pedestrians including, in foreground, one small boy with package under arm in road, one boy with lunch-box walking to left pavement, one man in cap holding newspaper and two boys walking away from camera on left pavement; horse and cart standing by right pavement, large car or small delivery van parked at left pavement, in road between the two a man on a bicycle rides towards camera. Reverse printed in brown; at centre top a circle containing a head and shoulders portrait with "Trade Mark/ Milton" around, with "The Milton" to left and "Post Card" to right; circle underlined and vertical division line below with "Platinesque" at reading up at centre; up left edge, "The "Milton" Series "Renowned" For Local views/ Woolstone Bros. London E.C.1" and "Printed/ in/ Saxony"; to left of centre "Correspondence"; to right "Address"; box for stamp at top right in which "Stamp Here". In blue ink down right side of division line "[?]Town 2". Pencil dealer's inscription; "Lim" at top left, "£10" at bottom right of centre. Unposted.
