Lacking fly sheet at rear, full brown leather binding, with title in gold on red leather on spine and further gold floral ornament on spine. Inside front cover a printed book-plate, black on white, of "J. Bunbury/ John's town", arms of three chess rooks on a diagonal bar, with crest of crossed daggers passing through a leopard's head, and motto below "Firmum in vita nihil".(Nothing in life is permanent); in pen "1861" twice below plate; on fly sheet opposite in pen "1881" and in pencil at top "V. Rare/ £375; on title page in black ink, signature of "J. Bunbury/ 1772," with second illegible signature below 1872. Some water/ damp marking of the edges of the pages towards the rear of the book.
