Sketch, pen and ink, with partial watercolour wash; titled at bottom "Diorama No. 6 "Vinegar Hill 1798." Depicts the last stand at the crown of the hill, with a cleric holding a bible, and standing under a green flag with harp at centre, with pikemen on either side; British troops are advancing uphill towards them on either side, those at left carrying a large Union Flag. The scene is set inside a painted red brick frame with wooden insert; and signed at bottom left "Thomas Ryan A.R.H.A. April 19th 1965". Drawn on white paper & mounted on a thick brown card and held in place with brown paper tape. A card frame around the drawing hides the tape and also obscures the title, and another inscription at bottom left "Scale 2 1/2 inches = 1 foot". The base of the card frame is inscribed in blue ball-point with two rows of spaced numbers; upper "9 2 3 8", lower "4 & 1 6 5 10 11 12". On the reverse in blue ball-point is "Nr 6".
